Le dimanche 20 mai, ce sera "Kids Day" à la librairie Drawn & Quarterly, à Montréal. Il y aura des activités sympa pour les enfants. Nous profiterons aussi de cette occasion pour souligner le lancement de mon livre "Virginia Wolf" (Kyo Maclear). Passez faire un tour!

"Migrant" (de Maxine Trottier et publié chez Groundwood books) est finaliste pour le prix Amelia Frances Howard-Gibbon. Parmi les finalistes, de très bons amis et illustrateurs à moi, dont Janice Nadeau et Matthew Forsythe.

"Migrant" (written by Maxine Trottier and published at Groundwood books), has been nominated for the Amelia Frances Howard-Gibbon award for illustration. Among the finalists are some great friends and illustrators such as Janice Nadeau and Matthew Forsythe.

Un beau livre illustré par Violeta Lopiz et publié par les éditions du Rouergue. L'illustratrice joue avec des superpositions d'acétates pour faire évoluer ses images foisonnantes au fil des pages. Astucieux et magnifique.

A beautiful book illustrated by Violeta Lopiz and published by Rouergue. The illustrator plays with acetate overlays to develop a sprouting visual through the pages. Clever and gorgeous.

Un aperçu du livre sur lequel je travaille en ce moment pour La Pastèque! Il s'agit d'un album graphique s'adressant aux jeunes de 7 à 12 ans. Le texte est de Fanny Britt. Je n'en dis pas plus pour l'instant!

Avant de vous montrer la bande-annonce, voici le livre! Un aperçu de mon nouveau livre intitulé "Virginia Wolf", de l'auteur Kyo Maclear - à paraître en avril 2012 chez Kids Can Press (et en français aux éditions de La Pastèque). J'ai reçu cette copie en avance... juste à temps pour Noël!

Quelques images tirées d'une petite bande-annonce sur laquelle je travaille présentement avec Kyo Maclear (Fourchon) pour promouvoir la sortie de notre prochaine collaboration. Virginia Wolf paraîtra en avril 2012 chez Kids Can Press et sa traduction française sera publiée au même moment, aux éditions de La Pastèque.

Some images from a trailer Kyo Maclear ("Spork") and I are working on for the release of our new book together, to be published at Kids Can Press. "Virginia Wolf" will be available in April 2012 and the French translation will come out simultaneously at La Pastèque.

Collectif 2011

Illustration Québec vient de publier son Collectif 2011 et c'est une de mes illustrations qui est en couverture. Collectif 2011 est une publication visant à faire la promotion du travail des membres de l'association Illustration Québec. Pour ma part, j'ai voulu représenter l'idée d'un regroupement et aussi la diversité de styles présente à travers cette association. Le graphisme, quant à lui, a été conçu par l'Atelier NAC.

Illustration Quebec has just released its "2011 Collective" and one of my illustrations is on the cover. "2011 Collective" is a publication dedicated at promoting the work of Illustration Quebec's members. For my part, I wanted to represent the idea of a collectivity and also the diversity of styles of these illustrators. The book was designed by Atelier NAC.

Le New York Times a fait connaître aujourd'hui sa liste des 10 meilleurs livres pour enfants de l'année 2011 et "Migrant" en fait partie! Une critique et des images tirées des livres sélectionnés paraîtront dans un cahier spécial de la section "Book Review" le 13 novembre prochain.

The New York Times Book Review has announced its list of the 10 Best Illustrated Children’s Books of 2011 and "Migrant", is among them! A review and artwork from the books selected will feature in a special Children’s Book section of the Book Review’s November 13 issue.

“ Migrant ,” is written by Maxine Trottier and published at Groundwood Books.
