Back from the Salon du livre de Quebec awarded by a Bedeis Causa 2013!  The Réal-Fillion award - given to an author, scriptwriter or cartoonist from the province of Quebec for the succes of its first professional album - was awarded to "Jane, le renard & moi"!  Fanny Britt and I are delighted by this honour.  For your information, the book is coming out in English this Fall, as "Jane, the Fox & me" (Groundwood books in North America, Walker Books in UK).

The 2013 short list for the Ruth and Sylvia Schwartz Children’s Book Awards was announced today.  "Virginia Wolf (by Kyo Maclear) is among the finalists selected by a jury of young readers!  The winners will be announced on May 23rd.

A book about interior design that made me discover the illustration work of textile designer Virginia Johnson.  I like the way she uses watercolor, simplifying things up a bit but still evoking a lot.  Great use of colors as well.

I have an ABC-book project that I'm looking forward to work on this year...  In the meantime, here's one that I brought from the Montreuil children's book fair, last November.  It was elaborated with stamps specially designed by illustrator Gianpaolo Pagni.  Published by MeMo, 2012.

]]>GG awardhttp://www.isabellearsenault.com/blog/2012/11/13/gg-award.htmlIsabelle Arsenault2012-11-14T02:06:33Z2012-11-14T02:06:33ZHier avait lieu à Montréal l'annonce des lauréats pour les Prix littéraires du Gouverneur Général 2012.  Le prix dans la catégorie "Children's Literature - Illustration" a été décerné à "Virginia Wolf"!  Je suis très heureuse de cette collaboration avec l'auteure Kyo Maclear.  Nous serons toutes deux présentes au Salon du Livre de Montréal cette fin de semaine pour dédicacer et causer avec vous.

The Canada Council for the Arts revealed this year's recipients of the Governor General's Literary Awards.  Virginia Wolf won the prize in "Children's Literature – Illustration"!  I'm so proud of this collaboration with the author Kyo Maclear.  Note that both of us will be at the Salon du Livre de Montreal this week-end for signing books and chat with you.

"Virginia Wolf" (by Kyo Maclear) is a finalist to the 2012 Governor General's Literary Awards in the children's illustration category (English language)!  The finalists were just announced this morning on the Canada Council for the Arts's website.  The winners will be known on November 13.
